Works
ATTACK OF THE PETSCII ROBOTS David Murray Attach of the Petscii Robots, is a new game created for the classic 1972 Commodore PET gamecomputer. PETSCII (PET Standard Code of Information Interchange),is a programming language, as well as a visual esthetic, used in 8-bit home computers.Over the years PETSCII has been used for a variety of creative purposes: for example games, demos, telecommunications, videos, books and fine art have been created using the graphical symbols. This work is a vivid exemple of how experimental petscii language and symbols are used in a newly created game for a classic machine using limited amount of data.
RISO PRESSED GAME Mikrolabs x Extrapool This Risograph printed work is a frame by frame visualisation of an 8 bit sequence titled "Loophole". The work is showed both in motion and static form. Translating the digital to the analog. Risograph technology is very similar to a mimeograph. It brings together several processes which were previously carried out manually.
POETRY PATCH Jonah Bartee A custom modular synthesizer designed to allow users to create, control, and manipulate retro video games. The system has 2 main modules. In the World Core users can make changes to the game world via a series of toggles and switches, and in the Control Core users can use a NES controller to give inputs directly into the game to produce various results.
WHAT REMAINS Marloes de Valk & Aymeric Monsoux What Remains is an 8-bit game for the emblematic 1985 NES console, blending visual novel and adventure elements in a story translating real events from the 80s into an epic quest to save the world. ... In line with the project's concept, the game is developed on reused and repurposed cartridges.
SELF PORTRAIT Theo Triantafyllidis Self Portrait (Interior) is a guided tour inside artist Theo Triantafyllidis, showcasing some of his inner organs, thoughts, desires and fears. During the virtual reality tour, the audience is offered a series of paths and requested to make the most meaningful choices.
